APPOINTMENT NEWS: Epsilon and Abacus's Richard Wright promoted to marketing director

Epsilon International EMEA and Abacus marketing manager Richard Wright has been promoted to marketing director with overall responsibility for marketing activity for both brands.

Wright joined Abacus in January 2008 from marketing service provider Identex, part of the Rapp Group, and has implemented a number of successful marketing initiatives for Abacus and more recently across the digital business of Epsilon International.

Epsilon International works with clients in sectors ranging from financial services to travel and hospitality to pharmaceutical and retailing. In addition, Epsilon's Abacus division operates the UK's first and largest co-operative database, with a membership that includes more than 700 home shopping brands.

"I am delighted to be taking on this larger role and helping to build and direct the marketing plans for both the Epsilon and Abacus brands. Both brands have ambitious programmes for 2010 and their respective strengths in email marketing and direct mail will offer our clients access to effective multi-channel tools" said Wright who will continue to report into Ian Hitt, managing director Epsilon International EMEA.

As part of his new role, Wright will be joining the EMEA Executive Team and take a full and active role in the strategic planning process for both Epsilon International and Abacus.
