APPOINTMENTS: GoHello appoints ex-BT manager as chief marketing officer

Published: 03-07-2008

 John Irvine
B2B telephony system provider, GoHello, has appointed John Irvine as its chief marketing officer. Irvine will be responsible for extending the company's marketing operations from its base in Denmark into the UK market.

He joins from Verizon Business where he was responsible for the operator's non-US marketing activities. Before this, Irvine spent 10 years as general manager for BT where he was tasked with developing its global business operations.

Francois Mazoudier, CEO of GoHello, says, "John's blend of technical and commercial experience gives him the ability to take a technology that is clever and make it a technology that is useful."

Irvine adds, "I have learnt that technologies must be easy to use if they are to succeed. GoHello is a genuinely disruptive technology that will accelerate the move to ALLmobile (combined business and mobile) phone systems, negating the need for expensive investments in voice over IP (VoIP) and fixed mobile convergence solutions. It is exciting to bring this new service to market and to create this new category of phone system."

Irvine began his role in June and is based in GoHello's London office.
