AnyJunk? 'dump' Jedward |
AnyJunk, the on-demand rubbish clearance company has taken it upon itself to bin X Factor's Jedward.
The rubbish disposal expert, which targets homes and businesses, has launched a viral campaign which sees a CCTV-style video depicting the pair's rehearsal being interrupted by a collection team who throw them over their shoulders and into the back of the van to be disposed of.
The campaign was launched last Thursday and is designed to coincide with AnyJunk's seven newly acquired depots. ‘Rumours' were spread across social networking sites and forums that the singing duo had disappeared. The ‘rumours' were verified with the CCTV footage of them being dumped.
The video, created by ideas agency Wand received over 15,000 hits on YouTube in less than a week. Stormin' Ideas, responsible for marketing the viral, says it has been reposted on video sharing sites by Internet users and has generated much discussion online.
When the video ends, viewers are encouraged to visit the homepage and vote for who they would like the company to clear next. Suggestions will lead to future viral campaigns.
Jason Mohr, founder and MD of AnyJunk says, "AnyJunk is passionate about getting rid of rubbish, and let's face it, Jedward really are rubbish. No-one asked us to do this; we simply thought it was time someone took the initiative away from Simon Cowell... Put it this way, if I was a contestant on ‘I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' I'd start watching my back!"
