DATA NEWS: Mardev MD quits for Acxiom

Published: 09-11-2007

 Nick Martin, Acxiom
Mardev's MD Nick Martin has announced he is leaving after 14 year's service to work for marketing solutions agency Acxiom.

Martin, who will depart at the end of the year, will head up Acxiom's UK information products division.

"I do not leave Mardev lightly, a business that I have grown to love, and which has given me a great deal in the 14 years since I joined in October 1993," says Martin. "Much has changed in 14 years, not least the scope and nature of the business. The one constant has been Mardev's renowned expertise in data. I have every confidence in the future and its continuing success."

Mardev's sales director Zina Manda and senior vice president Karie Burt will share Martin's responsibilities from the beginning of January 2008. Manda will run the London office and Burt will oversee its US business. Zina has been with Mardev since 1995 and is a board member of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Burt joined in 1997 and is a board member of the US DMA's international council.

Both will report to Jane Burgess, board director of Reed Business Information.

Martin's announcement follows other high profile departures in the data industry this year including Steve Cook, former MD of Market Location and Richard Payne-Gill, who recently left D&B for LBM.
