SOCIAL MEDIA NEWS: Let's do the social monster mash

Data and marketing solutions company Infogroup/UK are hosting a social media mash-up for the Technology for Marketing & Advertising (TFM&A) event later this month.

The Infogroup company will be working with the integrated marketing event, held at London's Earls Court 2, to provide a platform for all TFM&A related content to be pulled together and enable people to meet and engage with online conversations about the event.

Infogroup/UK expects thousands of online interactions to take place on sites like Twitter and Flikr in the run up to the event. Infogroup/UK wants to capture the ‘buzz' in one place and hopes it will encourage people who are not attending to find out what's happening and come along.

The partnership recognises the markets shift to online and is attempting to cater for it by providing a place for people to meet and network online. Andy Taylor, head of marketing and sales for Infogroup/UK says, "Ultimately, events are not all about what happens face-to-face on the exhibition floor."

He continues, "Mash-ups are great for bringing people together with our last one at the DMA Conference in San Diego hosting more than 5,000 online conversations."
